There are two bleaching methods: in-office or at-home bleaching. For the in-office method, patients have their teeth whitened at the dentist's office. The session does take a little bit of time but the results can be admired immediately. For at-home bleaching, patients are given a custom-made tray and a bleaching gel that they can use to whiten their teeth themselves. The result can only be seen after several days.

It is important to know that existing fillings, veneers or crowns cannot be whitened. This is another reason why every tooth whitening procedure requires a detailed consultation and dental check-up followed by a teeth cleaning. Only if the dentist knows the exact wishes of the patient can optimal aesthetic results be achieved in combination with optimal oral health.
